
Yazan “Yaz” Rantisi is a dedicated family law attorney with a proven track record of advocating for families and children across Louisiana. Practicing family law since 2019, Yaz combines extensive courtroom experience with a deep understanding of family dynamics and state policy to deliver comprehensive, compassionate legal solutions.
Yaz’s career is defined by his commitment to family advocacy at both the individual and systemic levels. He founded and served as the Managing Attorney of The Louisiana Family Law Firm from 2019 to 2024, building a practice focused on navigating complex family matters. Driven by a dedication to public service, he also served as a Staff Attorney at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services in 2024, expanding upon the foundational experience he gained there as a Law Clerk in 2018.
At the statewide level, Yaz previously served as the Policy and Rulemaking Director at the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), directing critical, high-impact initiatives.
Beyond the courtroom and the boardroom, Yaz is a fierce, hands-on advocate for his community:
- Child Advocacy: Served as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for the Capital Area CASA Association, providing a voice for vulnerable youth in the legal system.
- Fatherhood Engagement: Served as an active member of the Louisiana Task Force on Fatherhood Engagement, playing a key role in organizing state-level initiatives like “Dad’s Day at the Capitol.”
- Legislative Action: Actively engaged in state policy review, recently collaborating with colleagues to support family law legislation.
Yaz earned his Juris Doctor from the Southern University Law Center and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University.
